Casket Burial Options

Woodland is committed to provide a resplendent landscaped cemetery in which to find tranquility and solitude as well as to provide an environmentally sensitive burial space now and into the future. Current options will include availability within our Historic and Southern Districts as well as within our Community Mausoleum.

Historic District

The Historic District is located between Wyoming and Stewart Street, consisting of the oldest areas of the property. Many of our historic figures can be found within its perimeters. The trees are more mature and the grand monuments beckon to another era. To be in this district is to be a part of history. Woodland maintains a strict code which enables the areas to continue in the Victorian appearance. With shades of grey and pink granite as well as monument styling sometimes being very restrictive so that the areas can continue as they were meant to be. Spaces are diverse, limited and memorialization permitted will depend on the specifics of the location. Even though this is the traditional casket conversation, please note that cremation burials can occur on these spaces.

Southern District

The Southern District is located south of Stewart Street next to the University of Dayton. The first burial in the area took place in 1969. The trees are younger and the memorialization offers colors that span the rainbow in addition to a more modern feel of styling. The areas vignettes bring you to a multitude of different layouts and landscapes. Offering more availability of spaces in closer proximity to one another. Even though this is the traditional casket conversation, please note that cremation burials can occur on these spaces.

Community Mausoleum

The building was constructed in 1969. Offering single and double marble front crypts for caskets along with the option to place cremated remains within the crypt; furthermore, the mausoleum planners placed in the design marble and glass front niches for urns. The building provides a climate controlled environment that allows the visitor to move throughout with ease since the building is a single layout floor plan. As you are in the building take the chance to admire the 12 stained glass windows created by the Willet Studios of Philadelphia and Willet and Hauser Studios, Parsifal mosaic and the Bronze wall.
