SUMMARY:Woodland Arboretum Spring Tree I.D. Tour
DESCRIPTION:Can you tell the difference between a maple tree and an oak tree when there are no leaves on the trees?   Believe it or not\, it’s not that difficult if you know where to look and the many clues…bark\, shape\, buds\, and twig structure. \nJoin Maribeth Kambitsch to learn how to identify some of Ohio’s native trees in the spring including oak\, maple\, locust\, beach\, and ash.  As days are getting longer and temperatures warmer\, branches and buds are changing color and size\, and in anticipation of spring\, it will be exciting to check them out.  We will also look at the fascinating adaptations of trees and how they provide important habitat for a variety of other wildlife. \nThis program is for folks of all ages so bring the family. And bring binoculars if you have them; we may spot some critters that have just awakened from hibernation or returned from their winter homes. \nMeet at the Eichelberger Plaza at the main gates of the cemetery. Parking is available both inside and outside the gates. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle if needed. Tours will launch rain or shine\, except in the event of thunder or lightning. \nAll tours require a reservation and there is a suggested $5 donation.
