SUMMARY:Woodland Chapel Restoration - Help Save this National Treasure
DESCRIPTION:The Woodland Chapel restoration project needs your  support.  Established nearly 180 years ago\, Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum is one of our nation’s oldest landscaped cemeteries.  Woodland is a revered place of eternal rest for over 111\,000 souls entrusted to its care and offers a beautiful and tranquil landscape for the bereaved and visitors. It is the final resting place of many distinguished fore bearers including the Wright brothers\, Erma Bombeck\, Paul Laurence Dunbar\, and Charles Kettering. \nWoodland’s chapel\, and office completed in 1889 are on the National Register of Historic Places with the Chapel featuring one of the finest original Tiffany windows in the country. It also houses 16 other Tiffany windows and a hand-cut Tiffany mosaic floor. \nThe Chapel requires extensive restoration and preservation or this beautiful structure will cease to stand another 20 years.  We humbly request that you consider making a gift to assist this unique and worthy restoration project so that current and future generations can enjoy. \nSincere thanks for your consideration\, \nWoodland Cemetery\, Arboretum and Foundation \nYou can make a donation through our GoFundMe page by clicking on the highlighted text.

SUMMARY:Residents of South Park at Woodland Cemetery program at The Wellington at Dayton - CANCELED
DESCRIPTION:Per Woodland company policy\, due to the ongoing corona-virus\, all community presentations at partnership locations have been canceled for 2020. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. Please be well and take care.  \nOnce known as Slidertown\, South Park was a community project sponsored by John Patterson of NCR. Eventually South Park developed into a pleasant\, garden-filled community where factory workers lived side-by-side with supervisors and Patterson’s right-hand men. South Park preserved the sense of a close-knit neighborhood whose residents co-operate to maintain the many neighborhood parks which give the district its special flavor. \nThe program is free and open to the public and will be held in the Wellington Community Room. \nThe Wellington at Dayton\n2656 W. Alex Bell Rd.\nDayton\, OH 45459
